Lost a Good Man

The team begins to unravel. Brian David Bloom, attorney, co conspirator for over 30 years, wisely chooses stable employment over the good life in Oaxaca, and prepares to return to the Alameda County's public defender's office. But not without a hell of a party.

Brian introduced us to Tavo and his family band, Raices, from whom he took jarana lessons. Brian's mission in Oaxaca - learn the jarana and cook mole. This he did. Raices played for his goodbye soiree.

When Brian wasn't playing Son Jarocho, he was playing traditional American folk music with these characters, John and Tony, core members of the Bodega Boys. The Boys were heavily lubricated by poweful products from Tony's mezcal still.

Susanna tore the house down with her goodbye poem in impeccable Spanish. With generous heart, she sent Brian off and she stayed behind with the children.
