Not since the glory days of Monte Alban had the city been so alive at night. Well, that might be a bit overstated. The archaeological institute (INAH) that manages Monte Alban opened the ruins to visitors one night and we were lucky enough to have our neighbor friend, Hector, an amateur astronomer, get us tickets. The sun set over the ancient city and dozens of people brought powerful telescopes to watch the stars and planets appear in the darkening sky.
